There’s a voice inside many of us that seems to know exactly how to hurt us. This arc helps you meet it — not to fight it, but to understand it and build a kinder inner dialogue.
There's a voice inside many of us that seems to know exactly how to hurt us.
It says things like: "You should have known better." "You're not doing enough." "If you were really good enough, this wouldn't have happened."
That voice is the Inner Critic.
For some, it's loud and constant. For others, it whispers in moments of vulnerability. Either way, it can shape how we see ourselves, how we show up in the world, and how kind (or harsh) we are to ourselves.
The Meeting the Inner Critic arc was created to help you finally meet this voice — not to fight it, but to understand it, and slowly build a kinder, more supportive inner dialogue.
What this arc offers
This 5-session journey is a gentle, structured exploration of your relationship with self-criticism. Over the course of the arc, you will:
- Clearly name and recognize the Inner Critic when it appears
- Understand where it came from and what it's trying to protect
- Explore how it affects your daily life, decisions, and self-worth
- Begin developing a more compassionate and realistic inner voice
- Practice new ways of relating to yourself when the critic gets loud
Each session builds upon the previous one, creating a safe progression from awareness to understanding to gentle change.
Why this work matters
The Inner Critic often pretends to be helpful. It tells you it's pushing you to be better. In reality, it usually leaves you feeling exhausted, unworthy, and never enough.
Unchallenged, it can:
- Sabotage your confidence and creativity
- Make rest feel like laziness
- Turn mistakes into proof that you're flawed
- Keep you stuck in perfectionism and people-pleasing
This arc helps you stop fighting yourself and start understanding the critic as a protective part that learned its job a long time ago — often in childhood. Once you see it clearly, you can begin giving it a new role instead of letting it run the show.
Who this arc is for
This arc is especially powerful if you:
- Have a loud or harsh inner voice that criticizes you regularly
- Struggle with perfectionism or feeling "never enough"
- Beat yourself up after mistakes
- Find it difficult to celebrate your wins
- Want to develop a kinder, more supportive relationship with yourself
You don't need to eliminate the critic completely. The goal is to stop letting it control your worth and your peace.
Meeting the Inner Critic is not about silencing a part of you. It's about understanding it, thanking it for trying to protect you, and gently giving it a new, healthier job.
